Commerce for Umbraco - Simulate Orders

Oct 27, 2009 at 9:17 PM

Any tips/suggestions for testing the orders functionality without actually filling in all the credit card details (or simulating them)?

We would like to walk through each order step, but (for testing purposes) skip the order processing part and simply generate the order so we can test other aspects of the commerce flow.

What's especially not clear is how to implement SSL for the existing files when the the commerce pages are not in a secure folder - tips on how to implement this are appreciated!

Rob -

You'd need to stub out the Payment Provider and set the configuration accordingly - there is code in the dashCommerce.Net project to do this, so its worth a look.  For our clients we set up a PayPal (or other providers) Sandbox account and use that for testing - it gives a better picture of end to end.

As for SSL...just need to configure your checkoutUrl in the commerce <domain> config to use a secure Url and the user will be redirected.
